Dress as a scientist day

Dress as a scientist day - Monday 9th March 2026 πŸ§ͺπŸ§‘‍πŸ”¬πŸ”¬πŸ”πŸ₯ΌπŸ”

πŸ”¬βœ¨ British Science Week – Dress as a Scientist Day! βœ¨πŸ”¬

To help us celebrate British Science Week, we’re inviting all pupils to dress as a scientist for the day!

When you think “scientist,” the classic image is a lab coat – and if you already have one, perfect! But you don’t need anything special to join in the fun. An oversized white shirt or T‑shirt makes a brilliant DIY lab coat. Add a few hand‑drawn pockets, buttons or “mysterious stains,” and you’re halfway to being a chemist or inventor! πŸ§ͺ

Accessorise with:

  • A clipboard
  • Safety goggles
  • Pens and pencils in your pocket
  • A handmade ID badge or lanyard

But remember — scientists come in all forms!
Why not dress as…

🐬 A marine biologist – carry a cuddly dolphin
πŸ•΅οΈ‍♂️ A forensic scientist – wear a boiler suit
πŸ¦• A palaeontologist – bring along a toy dinosaur
πŸš€ An astronaut – because astronauts are scientists too!

Or get creative and dress as a famous scientist:

  • Ada Lovelace – Victorian dress, first computer programmer
  • Jane Goodall – shorts, boots, binoculars, and a cuddly chimp
  • Thomas Edison – smart suit and a pretend light bulb
  • Isaac Newton – grey wig and an apple 🍎
  • Galileo – long dark robe, belt, and a telescope

We can’t wait to see our school filled with brilliant young scientists! πŸŒŸπŸ§¬πŸ”
