Every year World Down’s Syndrome Day is celebrated on the 21st March. This is a global awareness event and this year we will be doing our bit to raise awareness of Down's Syndrome by coming to school on Tuesday 21st March wearing #LotsofSocks – we would like all our school community to come to school wearing odd, bright or patterned socks.
Please see attached a list of activities all happening in Corby Library throughout February.
Please find attached a copy of our calendar of events for this academic year. We have aimed to include as many events as possible, and please be assured we will let you know if there are any additional events or trips that get planned as we go through the year.
You will also see that we have planned a number of fundraising activities this term to support with the fundraising efforts for Harry. Harry is one of our amazing year 4 pupils with a condition called Duchenne muscular dystrophy. This is a serious and life debilitating condition, that causes the muscles in the body to weaken. We are proud to support Harry and his family in raising money for the ‘Fight for Alfie’ charity, who have been providing both Harry and his family with ongoing support.
We have planned a mufti-day on Friday 30th September, and asking pupils to come to school wearing red, white and green (the charity colours), in return for a donation. This will be loaded onto parent pay.
On Thursday 20th October, we are organising a Halloween disco. This will be from 4-5pm for Reception and KS1 pupils, and 5.30-6.30pm for KS2 pupils.
On Friday 9th December, we will be holding a Christmas cake sale.
Further details about these events will be shared nearer the time, and we look forward to raising as much money as possible for Harry and the charity supporting him.
